How fast is light? How can we move? What do we see? Why does iron rust? What on earth can answer these questions?…science. Without the knowledge of fundamental science. We humans would be stuck in a primitive era with high death rates and low standards of living.
With science we can calculate the speed of our planet. Calculate the energy of a moving object. You can stare at this blog post plus your phone. What can’t we do with science ( don’t mention time travel or psychokinesis or a bunch of stuff like that our technology is pretty obsolete, compared with other aliens out there)
What is science
Science is a “phenomenon” brought about by human curiosity: we wanted to answer some basic what, when, how, and why questions. Such as what is that?, when was it made?, how is it made?, and why is it made? This could range from basic questions like stuff about fire, to extreme philosophical questions like stuff about the universe.
In my perspective, no one invents anything. But just discovers it. For example, if you think you’ve invented a rocket. Actually, you haven’t,but just discovered that doing something to some already preexisting materials would lead to a flying machine. Yes, great intellect and creativity would have to go into creating this; I’m just creating a link between science and engineering.
Science is understanding our world. Why engineering is using this knowledge for our gain and comfort. So thanks to science for giving us comfort and aid through technology. You won’t even be reading this if not for science. If you haven’t appreciated science, or you look down on science nerds…think again.
